「五眼聯盟」源自五個英語系民主國家——美國、英國、加拿大、澳大利亞和紐西蘭——簽署的情報共享協定。該聯盟最一開始是二戰時為了做情蒐成立的，爾後演變成單純的情報共享聯盟，並於2019 年中美貿易戰後將對抗目標轉向中國。近年來最著名的共識就是五國皆禁止使用中國電信公司華為的5G 設備，認為其設備可能存在後門，破壞五眼聯盟嚴密的情報共享機制。2020 年日本表示有意願加入，擴張為六眼聯盟，目前仍在評估中。

Year of Establishment: 1941

The establishment of the Five Eyes is based on the intelligence sharing agreement between five English speaking countries– Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It was first founded for intelligence collection during World War II and later became an alliance purely for intelligence sharing. In the wake of the 2019 Sino-U.S. trade war, the alliance shifted defense focus to China. The best-known agreement of the alliance is that all five countries have banned the use of China telecom company– Huawei’s 5G technology as it is alleged that Huawei has backdoor access to its facilities, undercutting the highly secured intelligence sharing network of the Five Eyes. In 2020, Japan expressed its interest in joining the alliance which would expand it to six eyes. So far the proposal is still under evaluation.
